This exclusive event showcases a unique transatlantic collaboration between seemingly disparate artists joined by an impulse towards a captivating, majestic calm. Two new works by composer and keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson of the Icelandic post-rock group Sigur Rós, one of which features text by Canadian poet Anne Carson, are rendered by some of Europe’s most celebrated choristers. The evening also comprises works from Riceboy Sleeps, the celebrated ambient creation of Jón Þor “Jónsi” Birgisson, the incandescent voice of Sigur Rós, and his partner, Alex Somers, under the baton of Jeffrey Milarsky.
