Accessibility Information: The Metropolitan Opera House

The Box Office is accessible from the Plaza Level via Columbus Avenue, West 62nd Street, and West 65th Street. Wheelchair seating is accessible from the Concourse Level only. Please call 212.799.3100, ext. 2207 at least 24 hours prior to the performance to make arrangements for assistance.

Hours: Monday–Saturday 10–8; Sunday 12–6.

When ordering tickets, please specify wheelchair seating. Patrons who use wheelchairs and are able to transfer may purchase an orchestra aisle seat when ordering tickets.


  Wheelchair Seating
There are 8 wheelchair locations in the Orchestra and 8 locations in the Dress Circle.

Wheelchair Loans
Available for people to go to and from their seats. No security deposit required. Click HERE to download a seating chart of The Metropolitan Opera House.


   Braille and Large Type Programs
Large Type programs are available at all performances. Braille synopses are available for most operas. Contact an Usher. Family Circle score desk tickets, with no view of the stage are available for $10 for most performances. Contact the Met Opera Guild Education Department at 212.769.7000.

  Assistive Listening Devices
Assistive Listening Devices available for Hard of Hearing patrons. See the attendant at the coat check. A major credit card or driver’s license is needed as a security deposit. Specially designed titles system offers continuous translation of the opera available to every member of the audience.

  Drinks and Dining

The Grand Tier Restaurant and the Revlon Bar
Open Monday through Saturday for dinner and intermission services. Also serving lunch for Saturday matinees. Features contemporary American cuisine while the Revlon Bar offers sushi, paninis, crostinis and a full service bar. Both are now open at 6pm for pre-curtain and intermission dining. Patrons who use wheelchairs or those who wish to avoid steps must enter from the Concourse Level and use the elevator.
