“Fluid, engaging, potent, witty.” – Minneapolis Star Tribune

Trombonist-composer Wycliffe Gordon was on hand when swing found a permanent home at Lincoln Center two decades ago, and his career keeps hitting new plateaus. Playing for dancers in a Saturday evening slot is a particularly juicy platform for him: Gordon has been around the world as a jazzer, but because his earliest roots are in gospel music, he knows quite a bit about the frissons that turn Saturday-night hedonism into Sunday-morning confessions. And let's face it, isn't that who you want rocking your party?
