Acclaimed director Katie Mitchell returns to New Visions from her 2008 production of Waves to stage One Evening, a gripping performance that explores the profound effect that Franz Schubert’s music had on Samuel Beckett. Celebrated tenor Mark Padmore’s expressive account of the composer’s wrenching song-cycle Winterreise, in a new English translation, is interwoven with British actor Stephen Dillane's readings of the iconic playwright’s poetry and prose on themes of the human condition.

This performance is approximately 1 hour, 15 minutes, with no intermission.
Please note: Performances begin promptly at their scheduled times.
There is no late seating.

Co-production with Aldeburgh Music and Southbank Centre

This performance is part of the New Visions series.

New Visions is made possible by The Fan Fox and Leslie R. Samuels Foundation, Inc.
