New York City Opera celebrates its rich history at Lincoln Center by presenting the long-awaited revival of Hugo Weisgall’s Esther, an American masterpiece that received its world premiere in 1993 at City Opera. This groundbreaking opera is the first production of New York City Opera’s 2009-10 season, its first under the new artistic leadership of George Steel and its first in the newly renovated David H. Koch Theater.
